Default Factory style side pipe covers

i am looking to convert my rear exhaust 69 427 to side exhaust. The chrome plated factory style covers retail for around $2,600. Is there a secondary market for these? Don’t want to spend that much but prefer the factory style look vs the hooker type.

There's only one source for the OEM chrome covers.
All your alternatives will be fiberglass.

On this subject is there a side exhaust cover that will fit larger diameter header side pipes?

I know about the fiberglass covers. Has anyone had these chrome plated? Wonder how close they look to the originals? There is a place in Pennsylvania that can plate fiberglass

I used the fiberglass covers- chromed them and used ½"square tubing to space them out.

My custom made 4" Stainless exhaust-utilizing electric cutouts to go from 2½" straight pipes to a "glass pack" type muffler fit perfectly.

I bought my covers from a fellow forum member who was unhappy after spending almost $600 to have the fiberglass chromed- on top of the $375 he had in the covers.

So after spending almost a $1k-to me- it doesn't look like the chromer prepped the covers very well (rough edges)and I don't see the money in them as well...I got them for a little more than the bare fiberglass covers.

I keep looking for a deal on the real thing- but in the mean time will run these covers. I mean $2K+!!!
