1970 LT-1. Changing the head light I found something unplugged and not sure what it is. First picture is the passenger side you can see what I'm referring to. Second picture is the driver's side which looks intact. All headlights, high beams, side markers works...so not sure what this is.
Thanks.

It's the warning switch that tells you the lights are on but not raised all the way. Red light on the dash center gauge console.
Normally when you turn the lights on it would light up while the lights are going up and then turn off when they reach full height
M

Plastic threaded end, very fragile and frequently broken (or so it would seem)

Looks right (link is screwy on my end) ecklers p/n 25-123546-1

Looks like the nut is still sitting in your linkage there so pop it out before it falls out (probably been stuck there for years but it'll fall out tomorrow when you go for a drive...)

Eckler's says
Corvette Headlight Door Open Warning/Warning Switch, 1969-1982
. I don't think my '77 has that feature. Was that an option with the 'Convenience Pkg' or whatever it was called?

I believe 76 was the last year for the warning switches. When you install a new switch just snug it up or you will break it again. The threaded plastic shaft has a cut through one side where it meets the switch body and is very fragile. You can break them off just by sticking your hand up in there and knocking it.

If I remember correctly, the new console/center gauges installed in the ’77 did away with the Door Ajar and Headlight Door warning lights. It replaced those two indicator lights with a “Gen” light and, optionally, a Low Fuel warning light. The latter was part of the ZX2 Convenience Group. The Seat Belt warning light remained.
