wiper door opening
I tried the "15 second test" , pinching off the small vacuum line downstream of the check valve and the door did open, indicating a bad vacuum safety switch? In reading previous posts I'm not sure if this could a slight opening of the door when shutting down. Any suggestions as to why it opens when motor was just turned off would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If the door opens, it's most commonly due to a faulty wiper arm vacuum switch at the passenger side wiper arm or a loose hose at this switch. When vacuum falls from this switch the door by default is to open so the issue is most commonly on the small hose side at this switch. It sounds as if your are losing vacuum on the small hose side and maintaining vacuum on the large hose side briefly.
You could also check the connection at the over-ride switch under the dash.... either of the two could be leaking vacuum causing this issue.
