Default Engine question

Hi its me again. Ok this is how much i know now: my 79 has a rebuilt block; i don't know what from, edelbrock intake manifold, carb and air cleaner, hi performance cam, .030 overvbore, true duals with no caty's, aftermarket headers and no emission controls.
i was wondering if all chevy small blocks were the same, because i want to get the hooker sidemounts and the local car shop(Lordco) said i should get the universal ones and bend them myself. Will the corvete sidemounts fit my engine? and what was the main difference between an l82 and l48 i was told it was the header size, that the l82 had 2.something inch pipes which is what mine has but i dont know what the block is cause there is no pad to find it on. Also any esimates on horsepower would be appreciated.

Default Re: L48 question (battsup)

L48, L82.. you can use the same header set up....you are right, the heads were different, in addition, the L82 had a 4 bolt Main, while the L48 had a 2 bolt main.

Hooker, Hedman, etc. make these. Not sure in Canada, but I got the headers with the AIR rails. (My block is original)

Good Luck.. as far as HP.... download this file to your desktop and open with Acrobat.. www.stacyandtim.com/1979 Corvette.pdf
