Hi,
I bought a 79 vette a few weeks ago brought it home looked at the trim and paint code located where the door hinges are on the drives side. When i bought the car the paint is 2000 candy apple red so i knew that the paint wasnt original. The interior is black. I thought the original paint color would be a redish color because every wear you look it is red there is no other color on the body anywear. I look in the NCRS book for the paint codes and the paint code on the car is 19 witch is black and the interior was 27 witch is white. That shocked me that the interior went from white to black. but another thing i didnt understand that seat belts are blue so i wonder if the color befor black was blue?? Have any of you guys ever checked your paint code and trim code to see in the paint and interior are original colors. If you dont have the NCRS book with the paint codes in the i will look it up in my book for you if u would like me to.

My paint code is for Riverside Gold, the car is currently Rallye Red (I think!) It will be Riverside Gold again, when I repaint it. Seat belts wearout the previous owner probably replaced them with what he could find that would fit.

You sure on those codes? Paint code 19 is black for 79, but there is not a trim code of 27. And no white interiors for 79. Black leather for 79 was trim code 192. Here are the 79 interior trim codes for 79:
12C=Oyster cloth
122=Oyster leather
192=black leather
29C=Dark Blue cloth
292=Dark Blue leather
49C=Dark Green cloth
492=Dark Green leather
59C=Light Beige cloth
592=Light Biege leather
722=Red leather.

Re: Trim Code!! (1979LS-6corvette)
Have to agree with the guys above, no 27, or white in 79. Maybe look again and see if it's 29? That would be blue. Also, the NCRS Judging Manual will tell you what codes would be on the original belts, which may help?
