Default Another wheels thread

So I've been searching for a new set of wheels and tires for my 68 and I came across the Aodhan DS01 which comes in
18x10.5
ET25
5x120
CB (Centrebore) 72.6

I spoke with the rep and he said they can drill the wheels to match the bolt pattern of my 68.

Would these wheels fit my car? I'll be adding spacers for sure, front and rear. The rep did mention that this would be an "aggressive" fitment but I'm not sure what that meant.

Thanks guys

68 & 69 have non-Flared wheelwells, which limits how big will fit.
Chevrolet used concentric wheels, i suggest you do the same.
(Not custom drilled holes unless they also cut the concentric Dia. on the wheel)
you also will need to move emergency brake cable.
Do Not listen to Salesmen / Rep.

Pardon my ignorance but what are concentric wheels?

My car car has huge flares so that’s why I was considering the lower offset wheel.

Also for the aftermarket wheels, which size and what shape seat of lug nuts do I need?

25ET means a 6" backspacing for a 10.5" measured wheel, 11" for whole barrel width.

Take a ruler and a strait edge to see if a 6.5" will interfere with your trailing arms and if 4.5" front spacing will fill those flares the way you want.

They also have the option of +15 which will push it even further out. I will be needing adapters for sure. Just want to make sure they will bolt up to my car.

I would be extremely careful in ordering a wheel that no one else has used on a C3 Corvette.
Even with your flares you could be looking at clearance issues in the rear and more in the front.
If they don't have a wheel the in the exact size you are considering, I would order one wheel, fit check it on all four corners and if it fits, order the other three.
There have been several threads on the forum regarding hub and lug concentric wheels and their use.
Do your research.
Hub concentric if you plan to track your car, otherwise lug concentric works on the street.

Keep in mind that 6t8s are the last of the SMALL front spindle vettes. 69 and larger have a larger diameter spindle with larger bearings. T

I'll do some more research. When you say clearance do you mean the back of the wheel may interfere with car components or that it may be too far out on the front and it would hit the fenders?

I'll never track the car, its just going to be a summer time cruiser.

I bought the complete front end rebuild kit from bairs, so almost everything on the front will be new. The only thing I haven't ordered are bearings because I haven't put the car up on jacks yet and tested each wheel.

The front passenger wheel seems good but I know that spindle was replaced by the PO since it looks shiny and newer compared to the driver side one.

Research the many threads here on the forum.
For the rear, you could have clearance issues between the wheel/tire and your parking brake cable mount, rear spring, spring bolts, sway bar, trailing arms if you aren't swapping out your OEM trailing arms with offset trailing arms.
For the front, tire to frame clearance when turning the wheels to full lock and tire to fender clearance.
Custom one off wheels are great, but if they don't fit and there are clearance issues, they could become a nightmare.
Good Luck.

This is the wheel I’m talking about. I know since it has just over 6” if backspace it will interfere with clearances. That’s why I was planning on having a set of spacers made to accommodate. Likely 3” spacer rear and 1.5-2” front.

Its not a custom one off wheel. It’s a mass produced wheel, they only thing custom is that they will drill out to give me the 5x120.7 bolt pattern because they don’t have it. They also said they will provide hub centering rings since the centre bore of the wheel is larger than 70.6, I believe it’s 73 or 74.

It’s hard finding a wheel that looks nice and won’t break the bank. I’ve looked at some that have the massive lip but they’re ranging from 500-800 a piece! This whole set of wheels willl cost me about 900. I think the black chrome will go nice with my white car.

Make sure to get the domestic 60 degree angle for the lug seat. Some of the Euro stuff with lug bolts is 45 degree

Would 7/16 -20RH Acorn be the correct lug nuts I would need?
