FYI Today I replaced my Bosch Platinum Plugs with Auto Lite Platinum Plugs. I have Headers on my '82. The Auto lite Plugs are approximately 1/4th inch longer. This caused a lot of problems, requiring pulling the rubber cushion out of the spark plug socket. What a bitch!!!!

Maybe 30 yrs ago. Some aluminum head manufacturers insist on NGKs for their extended reach in the chamber and excellent heat range options. That's on a SBC, which I do not believe is foreign but I can double check.

Agree. Champion plugs were always garbage when I tried to run them. NGK have never failed me. All plugs do the same job so unless you know of a reason to not to use a plug then they should all perform well enough regardless of brand. That being said I have had good success with NGK or Autolites as well.
Construction of the plug would be a greater factor or tip material, or overall length, color to the tip ( for jetting reading) these would be my criteria vs just brand name.
