Very  to see such a rare vette in such nice shape, but it just doesn't do it for me like some of the others here on the forum :nonod: .

Now if I had $90,000 to put into my car  , that could be something :D !

looks to me like canadian $$, even so at 90k US it is still to high, that is L-88 territory, even with low miles. IMHO

I think he wants $140k US! Sweet car!

"1968 Corvette 427/435hp L89 4Spd Car with only 6,708 original miles. In absolutely superb totally unrestored original condition. Original Owner. Have all documentation, including the original special order form. Has been kept in dry heated storage since new, never seen rain. The racing stripes were dealer installed at the time of purchase. Looking at it is like being in a showroom in 1968 (it even still smells new). The overall perfection of this vehicle is incredible. My poor quality photos do not do it justice! Was appraised by a well respected Corvette Appraiser in 1998. Copy and VIN is available for Serious Buyers. $140,000.00 US OBO."

Off hand I see wrong wheels, rocker panels, (should be black fiberglass) wrong valve covers, no distributor shield, wrong wiper motor.. All original?... I wonder if those tire still have the original air in them. Mine is more original than that one ...and just for forum members I will let ig go fo under 100k

If it IS original it means it has the very flawed, wavy fiberglass body panels. It has the unusually thin and very foolish steering wheel. It has the wobbly rally wheel covers which tend to break the clips and fall off. If it is original it has the plastic weave very uncomfortable seats. It also has the stock valve springs which will break when the engine is revved....if not soon....then eventually. Yeah....original is great. Let's all give a cheer for "original"......!!!

i've come to the conclusion that for the price many people think some of these cars are worth, you can fabricate one from scratch for alot less. all the parts, or at least the parts you'd want, are available from the catalogs. that is, if you want a car that your actually going to drive or race. you could build a tube frame L-88 coupe replica for about $25k, a SB car for even less, and it would probably handle and run much better than a true original 30+ year old car. this is something i've been considering since i can't find a decent project car for a vintage racer replica. it's getting to the point where something like a paul newman's car creations replica would be less expensive and more useable than an original!

Nice car, but at least half of the asking price (not necessarily the value) is in the low milage.
So if anyone wants to buy it an load it on the trailer I wish him, or her, luck.

If I had that kind of $$$, I'd buy several nice cars thatI could drive, and build a garage to store them in.

Bound to be a rip off, if it was truly a 6k mile car, they would truly try and make it "All Original" with the factory correct accessories. It appears to be a very nice car, but in present condition it is worth no more than a comparably equiped L-88 replica car. Unless massive amounts of paper work and documentation are available this car is greatly overpriced. It might be worth $40k U.S. for it if it was proved to be the real deal!
Funny how their is no Bloomington Gold or NCRS Survivor awards on this "all original" low mileage car.

The trouble is if $140K plus little use = low mileage, you cant drive the damn thing and enjoy it.

L-89 is an L-88, with TriPower instead of 4bbl. L-98's are rarer than L-88's.
That being said, it has a lot of UNoriginal stuff (paint, valve covers, wheels, etc. and who knows what else). At 6000 miles, and 34 years old, it probably needs all new rubber everywhere, interior components, a brake job, radiator, and maybe a motor rebuild from sitting so long. Nice car, though. IMHO, it would make a great garage ornament or museum car.
For me, however, give me Merlin's vette, 1bad69's, or 69myway's. You can do a LOT of performance work for that $$$$. I wanna go FAST, not just look at it......
my 2c.

This car is totally original. It’s the description that is too brief. This is a one owner car that was a special order. He ordered the fancy racing stripes, chrome door sills, the trick “Mickey Thompson” package (wheels, red stripe tires, valve covers, and headers), and a couple of other minor changes. All the original pieces that were removed at the dealership were boxed and taken home. They have sat in the garage ever since. The original wheels and tires have maybe 1 mile on them (and yes I think it might possibly be the original air). This is a true period piece that looks the same today as it did the day he took delivery of it at Brett’s Chevrolet in Chilliwack.
There are no imperfections on the body, and everything from the Engine compartment to the Red Leather Interior looks, feels, and smells brand new. Every document for the car is there, from the special order form to every service record, and it still has all the little tags (brown paper & wire) that it came with.
Mechanically it is in A1 condition. There are no problems from sitting. It gets fired and run once a week and receives regular servicing. Both on a very detailed schedule.
It has recently been documented by GM Canada, and in 1998 it was appraised by the C/S Auto Group for $150,000.00 US (Corvette Specialties/Barrett Jackson approved appraiser). Since then it has been driven less than 100 miles, and the market value has only gone up. The asking price is $140,000.00 US, but is negotiable, and I am 100% positive that any appraiser in the world that knows anything about Corvettes will tell you it is for real (and worth every penny.
The car is for sale because the owner has decided that after basically storing this one for it’s whole life, he would now like to have something that he can have some fun with. This car really deserves to be in a Museum or a Private Collection. Unfortunately there is no Bloomington, etc., because the car was basically never shown. Except once a year, it was driven to the local Corvette Club Show, where it wins first prize, then be driven home. I think this where about half of the 6,708 miles came from.
I am currently trying to get the owner to agree that if it hasn’t sold by January, to take it to the next Barrett Jackson auction. I believe that being able to see perfection in person might even bring the price up higher than what he is asking.
