if its purely a street car dont go too wide. Also depending on the roads where you are, our roads here are **** and the c3's with wide wheel/tire will track all over the road. Just depends on what your willing to deal with.

the roads here in Vancouver aren't bad at all, but I do know what you mean by being all over the road. I had 315 tires on my pickup which now has big mudders and they also tend to follow the grooves of the road which I have to compensate for.

one member here has 17x11 rears and 17x9.5 fronts with 4" back spacing and 275-40-17s but his car has the actual front flare which is narrower than the rear. On my car the front flares are just as wide as the rears and im concerned that with a 9.5 wide in the front it might still look odd and not fill up the fenders.

in the picture those are 265 50 15 on all corners with 1/4" spacer for reference.
