This is not a vett. But my brother in law has a 57 Chevy. He had the 327 rebuildt to a 350
The guy that's been working on it for the last 2 years told him that he didn't need a rear trans mount. What the heck!! He said that just having it hooked up to the the bell housing was enough???
I'm sorry about asking about a 57. But just want a correct answer?

Correct. Stock shoe boxes did not have a trans crossmember. They used a unique front engine mount. Most do install an aftermarket rear trans crossmember though. Jalopy Journal/HAMB might be a good place to ask about it.
