Spark Jump
I was watching my MSD distributor with the engine idling , and saw it sparking between the #3 and #6 towers on the cap. I looked closely at the cap, and didn't see any cracks. Could they still be there? The boots on the cap also look fine

The cap should not be arcing at all. Either the towers or caps are broken. Did you check inside the cap for arc trails or cracks? One thing you do not need is outside ignition sparks around gasoline.
