Default GEN Light & Tach

Not having a good day...had to replace the fan clutch and Distributor on my 1978 C3 and after all done I noticed 2 issues that weren't present prior.
  1. The GEN light comes and stays on while the car is running, though doesn't come on when the ignition switched on.
  2. The tach no longer works...yes its plugged into the distributor
Are the 2 above issues related? if so, how can they be fixed?
Thanks!

do you have a voltmeter and can test the alternator output?
can you test the distributor TACH output to see if there is a signal?

Tested both and all are fine...alternator output might be a tad too high
