Default 73 Wiper Motor Internal Wiring Diagram.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the motor/park switch itself? The car came disassembled so I don't know if the wipers worked correctly. When I test the motor per the test instructions, I get one speed; about 24 RPMs. I assume this is high. The white cylinder on the park switch looks to be damaged, but not burnt. The white inner core is frayed but the wire looks to be in-tact.

Here is some additional information:
Condition the wiper only has one speed. (Not sure which)

Test 1
(Motor tested only. Internal park switch bypassed)
+ to red/black wire on motor
-to case
Motor runs at high speed in clockwise direction when looking at gear

Test 2
(Motor tested only. Internal park switch bypassed)
+ to black wire on motor
-to case
Motor runs at very slow speed in COUNTERclockwise direction when looking at gear

Test 3
Wiper assembly tested using internal (park?) switch connections
+ center terminal on internal switch
- to Case
- to terminal 3 (terminal closest to the motor )
Nothing happens

Test 4
Wiper assembly tested using internal (park?) switch connections
+ center terminal on internal switch
- to Case
- to terminal 1 (terminal Furthest from the motor)
Wiper runs at about 24 RPMs. Wiper parks when – is removed from internal switch.

Test 5
Wiper assembly tested using internal (park?) switch connections
+ center terminal on internal switch
- to Case
- to terminal 1 & terminal 3
Wiper runs at about 24 RPMs. No change when negative removed from terminal 3 (Closest to motor) Wiper parks when – is removed from terminal 1
Wiper parks when terminal 1 is removed from motor and terminal 3 is left connected.

The switch is electrically pretty simple but mechanically odd.
When the motor parks, it pushes in the lever arm which mechanically pushing a set of contacts apart. When you turn the wiper on, the solenoid on the switch pulls the lever-arm that is holding the contact open, up about the contacts and that allows them to complete the circuit and the motor starts, pulling away the bit that was holding the lever-arm in

Thank you. My motor does "park". It just does not go into low speed. I suspect it may be the cylindrical coil that runs across the top of the switch. I am not sure if that is a resistor or an inductor.

It's a resistor, commonly broken
You can replace it with a more commonly available one.and tuck it in the bottom of the motor

Thanks Mooser. I just ordered the resistor that you show. I found my problem. The resistor was contacting the case when the switch was installed. I bent it out of the way and the wiper works correctly. The resistor is pretty beat up now so I will replace it.
