Default 78 stoplight problem

Hello all, i have problem with my left stoplight being intermittent. The tail light and blinker work normally. The stoplight works sometimes. I had the light apart and wiggled and pulled wires and couldnt trigger it to not work. Regardless of that i replaced the socket and bulb. Last night the wife was following me and said the stop light is still intermittent.

Where do i go next? Any help woild be appreciated.

Thanks

Check the socket for a good solid ground, these older wires are becoming more brittle and can crack allowing water to ruin the connection. Compare the ground with the other side and see if they are any different.

Also, the socket the bulb goes in can lose ground to the lamp body or lamp body lose ground to the stud the ground wire attaches to.

At the harmonica connection at the bottom of the steering column make sure that you have a good connection in and out at the yellow wire at 'M'.

The next connection is behind the lower left kick panel.
There is a nine pin connector, check that you have a good connection in and out on the yellow wire there.

check the bulb, they can be intermittent if the connection is corroded or the filament is cracked but not separated. Just swap bulbs or throw in a new one. Its a fast check to narrow down an issue. before you crawl around under the car
