I replaced mine in my 77 last week and went from 4.2 to 6.5, a big improvement

This battery is more than adequate for street purposes.

I have an optima red top, I think it has 1050CCA. It's the best battery I ever had. I think they're available w/ the side terminals too.

They say you need a minimum of at least 1 amp for each cubic inch------
but the more the better ! Igot mine at Batteries Plus---- for $70.00, I
got a 950 CCA with a 7 year warranty (3 yr free replacement) which I think is a good deal. Rick :chevy

Okay thanks to everybody for their 2cents.
i ended up going with an energizer battery,
650cca and 800ca at 0 degrees
it has a 2 year free replacement and 6 years pro rated after that period is over. it was on sale from $75 cdn to $59 cdn at walmart so it was a no brainer because everything else was over $90.

I found a vendor that sells rotory switch side mounted battery disconnects.
not a supporting vendor, so I dont know if I can mention or not.
Continue thread if interested. No, I havent bought one yet. so I cant vouch for quality. but only $9 US
