Just bought a 74 corvette, it has not been on road in 16 years, everything is original and lights work but I notice that when I use the turn signals the front and back lights work and blink but the indicator triangle lights on dash do not light or blink any ideas?
It sounds very simple but that's definitely the first thing to check as the turn signal indicator lamps typically get more hours of full voltage operation than any other indication or illumination lamps.
Do yourself a favor and replace ALL of the lamps in the cluster when you go to the rather significant work to remove it. Also prepare for frustration as I've heard here many times that the lamp connectors are extraordinarily finicky when you go to reinstall the cluster. Such is particularly true in your virgin work as you're not exactly certain what you're going to see or what you have to do I have a '79--my only Corvette--and it has a different dash and connectors so those are two of the notorious Corvette maintenance PsITA I don't have to deal with .
once you rule out that its the bulb then the next likely problem is the printed circuit in the dash bezel, these can crack and not work, most especially if someone has taken it apart and mishandled it.
