Default Installing the Steeroids Steering Unit

I purchased a Steeroids rack and pinion steering unit through the group purchase that the captain set up. I remember reading about one of the mounting plates having a hole drilled slightly off or something. I am going to have mine chrome plated and I'd like to get that part drilled correctly before I send it to the platers. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to do to correct that problem.

Thanks in advance.

There was a big article in Vette mag about it with photos and installation. I'll look tonight to see if I can find the article and review. I'll let you know tomorrow if no one gets back to you before then.

All the mounting plates were direct bolt-ons for me  . Chromed? Sounds great! Keep us posted.

The drivers side bracket and the gusset are bolted together with two nuts and bolts. I had to enlarge the holes just a little bit to get the bolts through.

That may have been from my posts, when I installed my Steeroids kit the first week of last January. On the right side mounting bracket, one of the holes in the bracket was about 1/2"off, and didn't align with the holes/bolts from the rack mount. I just redrilled the hole in the bracket in the correct spot. It was no big deal, but since I had one of the first kits I called them just to let them know. They said it could be due to the fact that they get their racks from a couple of different suppliers and it was just alittle different bolt pattern. I don't know about that, but in any case it was no big deal. It's still a very high quality kit and very easy to install.

Thanks everyone. I was just worried that I would get everything chromed and then find I had a problem that could only be modified by ruining the chrome on a piece. As soon as it arrives, I'm going to disassemble it and send it to the chrome shop.
