Hi guys, has anyone installed seat belt inserts and has a picture of it? I am in the process of installing my seat belt guides on a 69 corvette and bought a pair of those rubber inserts and wondering where and how they are installed.
I have a 69 as well ,but it didn't have the original carpet in it . That's what I think is the grommet that goes into the carpet so the belt can sit nice and neatly by the door .

Reason: spelling
Yeah I figured as much I just wanted to see a picture of it in place , also makes me wonder why GM made the inserts so big when the seat belt is only 2 inches wide. I am hoping that someone has a picture of them placed on the carpeting.

I'll post a pic in the next post. I have to switch devices to post the picture. But I can tell you the rubber repros are pretty bad. The originals are hard plastic and stapled in place from underneath the flap. The repors are hard to get in and to make look proper. I have installed the repros. All I can say is...GO SLOW..I actually used some silicone to glue them in place. Go slow with cutting the carpet. Cut a little each time until you get a snug fit. Since the repros are rubber, too snug a fit will bend them. The original plastic guides are much more forgiving when being installed.
Thank you very much for the picture and information. You would think it would be just as easy to make the plastic ones like original as the rubber ones.

I agree! By the way, the picture above is an original set as installed, untouched from the factory for a mid Jan 69 built car.
Hi could you be please tell me if that original carpet insert you show in the picture made of soft plastic or hard, I am trying to fabricate my own, because the set of after market rubber ones I bought are way too flimsy. Thanks
