I am finally putting my 78 back together. I remember at one time the reverse light switch wiring was there and everything worked as it should. When the body was off the chassis, I looked for the neutral and reverse switch wiring and didn’t see any kind of wiring in the transmission tunnel. Where would I find the information that would tell me what color wires for the neutral and reverse back up light switch that I’m looking for or how many wires there should be and where they come from?
On my 68 the reverse switch had pink and green wires. The plug on the wiring harness was on the engine side of the firewall about 18 inches below the top of the intake manifold next to the firewall where it plugged into the matching plug and wires that went to the reverse switch on the transmission.

I’ll take a look to see if I have something similar. My other problem is, while I had everything apart my 4 speed transmission was stolen so now I don’t know what the switch or plug looks like to match. I have since bought a 5 speed TREMEC. Thanks for the help.
