T-Toip weatherstrip install question
Passenger side creaks in front corner by the pin.
I see in a Mid America article the W/S is pulled out toward the corner and taped till glue dries.
I didn't do the tape thing.
Think I'll ruin the W/S by loosening the glued corner of the W/S and doing the tape thing to bring out the W/S a bit?
I'm hoping that doing this will stop or lessen the creaking.
Don't know if that's the problem tho.
Still creaks with the corner lock unlocked.
You may be able to move the weather strip outward by using the GM adhesive remover a foot or so from the corner, then cleaning and re-pasting the weather strip held by tape. One of the side of my 77 t-tops were adjustable. The metal strip had elongated screw holes to help place it in the proper alignment.

This solved my creaking prob at the corner pin. And yes, I also replaced the plastic inserts for the pin.

I have a newer plastic insert and adjuster screw.
Although the screw will only screw down close to half way.The clamp does lock very tight.
Looks like I'll go with the 3M weatherstrip release solvent and move the W/S glue and tape toward the corner like the pic.
