I want to manually turn the engine crank while watching the distributor rotor so that I might get an idea how tight or loose the time chain might be. I saw a comment on a utube video that said something about "....you don't want to do this, the bolt is not very long and it's not a #8....", which made me think a person might break the head off the bolt. How possible is that? I don't want to move it that much, just enough. Don't really want to take the plugs out either. It's a 350 running engine, just curious about the chain. Thanks.

get a cheap remote starter that clips onto the starter solenoid. you can make one cheap as well. You'll use it more than you think and they are handy for getting the motor turned over without any hassle
