Default tko600 in early C3

who has done it?
my car is a 71 - was thinking of just rebuilding the M20 muncie - but with 3.70s, i'm thinking the TKO600rr might be the ticket for my LT1 clone-

Anyone have trouble with clearance issues, or shifter location/placement?
The body is off the car now - so super easy to make the conversion at this point - but i don't wanna have trouble with tunnel clearance or anything like that. Also not quite sure how/if the cross member is affected - i'm sure many have done this??
Thanks

I have a TKO600 in my 68 with my 496.
I got the PerfectFit kit from Silver Sport Transmissions. No cutting, bending, or drilling required. I went from an M-20 also.
It is so much more drivable now!

I also went with a dual disc McCleod clutch and a hydraulic pedal. All from SST.

I installed a TKO600 in 2006 (Keisler's Perfect Fit), replaced a M21, same comments as above. I kept the stock clutch setup, no issues, no adjustments in 12 years. Best upgrade ever.

I've got a 73 with a TH-400 auto and a 454.
I just ordered an auto to manual conversion kit from Silver Sport Transmission.
I went with their TKO-600RR .82 final gear set up, Mcleod street extreme clutch kit, mid weight flywheel and chromoly driveshaft which will get installed behind my new 496..
My order shipped this morning.
SST was great to deal with and I highly recommend them.

What is your plan for the clutch pedal? Still Z-bar?

Yes manual clutch.
If I find it's too stiff, I'll go to the Mcleod RST dual disc.

All I can do is echo what has been said in previous posts, it's the best mod I've ever made to my car, and it's much more driver friendly.

The only other mod I'd recommend is to do a cross member mod so you can unbolt the cross member if you need to do work in the future. That will be easy to do with the body off, I wish I'd done the mod.

I have a TKO 500 from Silver Sport Transmissions , car originally was auto , but this modification is the best I have done so far, it really transforms the car into a great cruising vehicle
