Was wondering if using a pipe clamp is the recommended way to install the 69 exhaust tips onto the rear tailpipe.
The exhaust is an aluminumized system and bends ever so slightly down toward the rear exit. This is the actual exhaust extension I was given with the car. Extension fits over the exhaust, but is not super snug, should I use a clamp here?
Anyway, what is the preferred method - and thanks for any help!
This is the stock exhaust hanger system for a 69. The clamp is used for the chrome tip only and the hanger is bolted to a plate that's welded to the rear of the muffler. Since yours is an aftermarket muffler with a modified hangar you could just use the same type clamp with the bolts facing up so they don't show or interfere with the other clamp.
