I put Hedman's on mine and my biggest complaint is that they hang down too low. My car is lowered some but the headeds are by far the lowest point. Forget about going over a speed bump. They could have made some more room at the idle arm too. Would I buy another set??? NO WAY!!

This is sounding pretty good for me :D If I'm restricted by time (200-4R and suspension take too long) I'll have to just do a carb, intake, and header job on my current engine instead of an all new one. I already have catless true duals, so vrroom vrroom with headers! (My dad has a 1 5/8 tube set that he used to have on his '64 that he will give me)

I'm thinking of getting Dynomax headers for my '74. A parts magazine has a deal where you get $30 if you buy Dynomax headers. My only question is should I spend the extra $100-120 and get the coated ones, or will the non-coated ones do me just fine. My vette will be a semi-daily driver, going no more than 5-10 miles a day. Is it worth it to spend the extra bill to get the coated ones??????

I am using jet coated 1 3/4 Hooker Super Comps on my 406. My AFR 210 heads must have a raised exhaust port because the collectors exit right into the bottom of the firewall. I had to put a 90 degree bend down immediately after the collector. I am running 3 inch duals though. Also, being angle olug heads, I had to dimple the number 6 primary to get the plugs to clear on removal. Other than that, they have had no leaks or any other problems.

On my old 350, I had 1 5/8 Blackjack headers. These are probably the cheapest headers that one can buy. But other than painting them a couple of times in the 14 years I ran them, I never had leaks or any other problems.

Headers will increase your hp and torque substantially over stock exhaust manifolds. They are one of the cheapest, most effective, performance mods one can make. The difference is even more dramatic with a high performance engine.

Dynomax not ceramic coated. Been sitting in it's box for almost two years.
Going to buy and install Sanderson headers instead.
