Dodge Demon 60-160
2 runs... I walked on him each time.. I even let him get the run up on me from behind.
let him get as far as the door before the peddle hit the floor..twice:-)
started in 3rd.. hit 4th fast..140ish.. hit 5th 160 he gives up:-)
slow down, back to 60.. here he comes.. wants some more..same thing, same outcome:-)
i would say a steady 2-4mph gain per sec over the Demon...
Big black with blood red highlights.. huge rear wheels and wheel flares..
must really suck when a 40yo car can smoke your new 100K car:-)

Hi... you must be new amongst these parts:-)
The body is stock;-) does that count?
I was in the sweet spot of 3rd at 60..., waiting for him.... back tires started to loose traction for a few seconds like always in that rang the second i hit it,, 4th no longer spins at all... 5th is just hold on for dear glory;-). I've had her to 5500 rpm in 5th on occasion, and still pulling... haven't done the conversation, but it is fast:-)...

You know there's a Fifth Amendment. You're violating your own right to remain silent by posting this stuff on the web. I'm pretty sure you were exceeding any speed limit in this country. Hell you'd probably get pulled over on the Autobahn for that.

Those demons put down between 700-750 hp at the tire (depending on the octane of fuel they run), but they weigh 4500 pounds (HOLY COW they are pig heavy).
I would think you would need at least 600 wheel horsepower in a C3 to pull on one.
Nice work!

Pauldana, what does your car weigh these days?

No, and different countries have different names for the super speed toll roads. Like Autovia... up until 2010 it was a free for all in most countries. horrendous wrecks and with the ability to generate funds by imposing fines put an end to the fun other than Germany which is the last hold out
I've rented the fastest cars that I could and I couldn't catch some of those million dollar cars that blew by me when I was driving along at 150 mph for hours on end
now the cameras get you and it's the person renting the car that gets sent a ticket a month after you fly back home

Not really. You need traction, not always about the horsepower. You might have 750 hp, but if your wheels are spinning, you have to peddle it which then your hp drops for 750 down to 450 pretty quick. And then like you said, his car weighs 4500 lbs and the C3 weighs 3200 - 3500 lbs.
:-) thx...

Paul, I forgot your rear end ratio? This is a good calculator to figure out your 5500 rpm mph. Keep on showing up the late model rockets!

I actually have a 4.11, but it's not a choice. I guess that I have to put my big small block back in and come down and give you a go.

3:55 I actually had to go to my rear end build thread to find it just now:-) my OD is the .64

That put me at 194mph, did not seem that fast... oh well.. ... I was doing that last month with a 2016 Dodge viper... he lost as well:-)
Yea, put that motor in that bitch and come on down to Willow Springs and lets do some laps.. :-)
Your probably a better driver than I... lol but I'll let Danny drive Baby,, he's a better driver than I.

That sounds very similar to what I have been building as far as performance. I have not ran mine yet (still doing body work, ugh), but mine is about a 650 crank hp BBC with a TKO 5 speed and 3.55 gears. I have been nervous I should have gone with 3.83's because I changed from an auto to a 5 speed after I did my rear end setup.
Glad to hear I should be able to shred tires in 3rd...

I am running a small block chevy... not a BB...
This is my engine build thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ort-block.html
And one of my favorite threads... how to keep a C3 from getting light above 120mph:

On a typical road course on our vettes you are only going to use 3 gears while going around the track. I had 4.11 for twenty years and the big jump from 1.00 4th to .64 5th was not a good RPM jump. So I figured out that I could do faster laps with 3.55 gearing and never use OD. Just 2-3-4 around the local high speed straight
4.3 mile 18 turn. That was working out great and then the track closed it doors with the promotor taking all the investors money.
So I recently got a second rear end and built it up with 4.11 rear gears and installed it, so I have a spare 3.55 in the corner . 4.11 is so easy to take off and you can actually accelerate in OD
