72 Hardtop Question???
Did the hardtops that were covered in black vinyl have the chrome edging around the perimeter of the top? Does anyone have a picture of a top with the vinyl finish?

No chrome that I've ever seen. My top was originally black vinyl covered, but it got old looking so Bubba stripped it off and painted the top. One of the these days I'll try and find someone to replace the vinyl for me.

No "extra" chrome edging, but the vinyl covered hardtops are identical to the painted ones....except for the vinyl covering. There is/are the SS strip across the front, the trim around the window openings and the tips at both ends. Chuck

I have a black vinyl top. There is a chrome strip around the front header of the top. If you need a picture I could probably get one sometime today and email it to you. The top is on in my sig. picture. Your car should look aboutthe same as mine
