Trying to make the water temp gauge on my 69 corvette has been frustrating to say the least, here is my issue, I replaced the temp sending unit, the wire connection, and the gauge, with the engine running the temp gauge needle moves but is way off in accuracy, but I know it works so I put the Wilcox resistor on so I can adjust it but it doesn't move the needle at all, thinking it was bad I bought a second one but still the same. Has anyone else had issues with this or am I missing something, I figure if it's a ground or ohms issue the gauge would not work at all but it does, it just never goes hotter than maybe 100 degrees when the temp gun shoes the temp to be about 175 degrees. I appreciate any help.
There are two kinds of senders one for an idiot light and one for a gauge, do you have the correct one?
sounds like you might have the wrong sender............. just a guess.
You can send the gauge and the resistor to me and I can test it too... Service@Willcoxcorvette.com.
But I think they may have sold you the wrong sender.
A good test on the dash unit is to pull the sender wire off.... the gauge should go to cool... then ground it out and it should go to hot... that'll tell you if the gauge itself is working but this info is on my tech page.
