I'd strongly suggest a single blade fiberglass spring. VB&P is no more, so I can't recommend what I have, but I'd start by calling Van Steel, after searching this forum for other similar threads. 300 or 330 lb, probably, based on your shocks as much as anything else, but please don't take my word for the number.

I am in the same boat so to speak...my cars previous owner put spacers in to compensate for the bad curve in the rear spring and it really needs replacing. Since I am just cruising I think I will stay with the stock 9 leaf type. The added bonus is that this version is much cheaper than all the single leaf and higher tension models.

Thanks all for your time and help, been reading up on this. Found a good deal for a new 9 leaf (6/3) spring and I'm gonna give it a try.
Again, thanks all and I'll post how it goes once I get it installed.
