I have not done either swap myself but one of the members that has was kind enough to set up a web site covering both of the swaps that you want to do and many other useful tips. Look up TunedPort78's site here; http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/tune...8/index2.shtml

Good lucj on your swap. Fromn what I have heard most people go the other way and stay away from TPI. Unless your TPI is cheap or free think about a rebuild job with better heads, exhaust, and cam. .

What is your goal in doing the TPI swap? If it's fuel economy, you'd be AMAZED at how much the 700r4 tranny swap will improve your gas mileage! And there are other, less painful ways to improve engine performance...

isnt 87 the roller motor? id got for it! the hardest part of the engine swap would be the wiring harness. which wouldnt be too bad. the 700R4 is a fairly common swap into C3s... you should be able to find plenty of info on this. And TPI is good... CFI isnt. at least by todays standards. Also id play with heads and cam on the TPI motor... Try to get a good 350-400hp out of it if you have the money. might as well when its out of the car.

Unless you have to have a C3 with TPI, I wouldn't do it. I want TPI and a 4 speed auto as well.

So I'm buying a C4 (to go along with the C3).
