Default Need Help With @004rr TV Cable Setting

I put a new 2004r in my '76 and change the rear to 3:70. I bought the Bowtie Overdrive TV made easy kit for my holley 4175 spreadbore. However I continue to have problems getting it set up properly. First of all the angle of the TV cable bothers me. Isn't it supposed to be a straight line? You can see in the pic below how much it slants downhill which will have a impact on the geometry? I know all the steps to put the cable in the bracket and rachet it to full throttle, etc. I done this probably 25 times or more but I'm still not happy with it.
Thanks for you help!!

Sorry for pics being on their side. They were straight when I uploaded but somehow ended up this way

Just think how fast it'll be going straight down. Anyway, the bracket the throttle valve cable mounts to. You could probably tweak that a little bit bend it so that it faces more downward towards where the cable hits the throttle lever.I would take that thrn out of it right where it leaves the cable which is the part you're worried about.
