72 350, 4 speed with stock shifter. I've seen the adjustment procedure, but without lifting the car to see underneath, I can't tell if the adjustment can be made from underneath or if I have to remove the shifter console, or both. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The adjustment is made from under the car with the shifter lock in place and the linkage installed per the PDF below.

Follow Willcoxs instructions, its pretty easy. While your under there check all the shifter and transmission bolts to make sure something didnt come loose. Theres a few things that could affect a shifting change
If your transmission levers have two holes then insert the alignment tool Wilcox posted and adjust your linkage to the holes in the lower part of the levers. This is the short throw setting and makes a world of difference if you want short throw.

The long throw holes are a bummer... short in this case is a smoother shift to me.
