Members, looking for someone to send/take my m20 matching numbers trans to. Shifts great, quiet, no issues other than leaks and it sounds like the front leak may be coming from the countershaft. It would need to be bored and bushed if that is the case. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
I am not sure anyone around here close does that, but I will ask around. Need to go to the machine shop again in a few days and those guys might be able to help. I will post back later.
Matching numbers aside.....Last time I needed a case I went with a Supercase from Paul Cangialosi at 5speeds.com Comes with a plug for the end of the countershaft so leaks are gone. Maybe save the numbers matching case and run the Supercase?
The Supercase has slightly different dimensions than the stock case. That means that if you use it, the shifter will have to be adjusted. Not a big deal but something to be aware of. I suggest taking the guts out of the transmission and just sending the case. The case is fairly light weight. Send the case to Paul. Either way, you will still need to take the transmission apart. Paul has videos that show how to do this. It is fairly simple.

This is not a bad idea. The guts do not need to be completely disassembled all the way.. Least expensive option - just takes time.
FWIW - I did not need to make any adjustments to use the Supercase along with the balance being factory pieces. It all went together and worked without a hitch.

You can do the labor yourself. Its quite easy and I learned alot about my tranny doing it. And you can check to see if the hole is worn out.
Check you tube for Pauls muncie rebuild videos. THeyre very informative. You can also get parts from thegearbox.org but Pauls prices are sightly better

Call Paul at 5speeds.com. He'll tell you what your best choice is in getting that machined and ringed or welded and redrilled. If he can fix it then you can rebuild it yourself. Luckily my 68 M21 was in good shape. I'm converting it to a m20 this winter to mathc my 3.55 rearend. I have a 63 m21 which has the 7/8 pin so I may get rid of the case and go with a supercase and buiild a M22 wideratio or just rebuild it as a M21 incase I find a 3.70 rear some day.
