chrome....i need chrome

i bought my vette 4 years ago when i was 18...and the guy i bought it from painted the whole car black..everything!!! now i am doing a full redo on everything....anyone know of a good chrome plating shop for my bumpers and stuff in the houston, tx area or any at all......how much $$ should it cost for a good triple plating of everything......gonna take the body off soon...wish me luck! :chevy

I hear the EPA has shut down most chrome shops in this country, so the best sources for good chrome work are in Mexico.....

you may try and steel wool the bumpers. if the paint isnt too thick it could take it off. it might scratch the chrome, but you can polish it.

I have tried chrome platers all over the country and have been using the same one now for about 4 or 5 years.......and your so lucky, they are in Houston. I have to ship parts to them. The name of the shop is Speed and Sport Chrome Plating, 404 Broadway, Houston, TX 77012. 713-921-0235. Ask for Craig Bierman. They do beautiful work and have a 15 day turnaround time which is fast for chrome shops. They aren't cheap but they are reasonable for the quality of work they do. All chrome plating is expensive.
