C 3 Oil pan clearance in an LS conversion
Hello every body, this is my first post because i haven found my way around. I was going to put a 383 Stroker into my 73 Corvette, but something ask me why would i put a Stroker in, instead of doing a LS conversion.? So here i am, in the process of an LS conversion.
The conversion is not easy. While doing some online research i found out that an LS Oil pan, would not clear the Rack and pinion.on a C3 Corvette.
While viewing the Corvette Forums, one Guy said his Oil Pan would not work and he was going to used the steeroid Steering unit,to solve the problem.
Now I was not planing on replacing my Rack and pinion unit ,but if that upgrade would solve my Oil pan clearance problem,it might be the best way to go because looking at the price of some
of the available after market Oil Pan Kits they cost around $400.00.
If i can use the Oil Pan that came with the LS Engine that i have and put $1,400.00 into an steeroid upgrade, the upgrade will only cost $1,000.00 .
I have a question to anyone who can answer it.
Will the steeroid upgrade, eliminate the LS Oil Pan clearance problem?
