C3 Mechanics,
I need your professional input . What size socket is the exact fit needed to remove the three bolts holding the stock steel pad that holds the rear leaf spring to the aluminum bat wing on a 1980 Corvette ?
Thank you Forum members for being a great resource for all of us learning about these iconic cars.
Robert

The three bolt heads are a M12 (metric) head bolt, the two larger ones are m12x 1.75 x 90 and the smaller one is m12 x 1.75 x 30.
They torqued... with the car sitting on the ground at 55-75 ft pounds. Never... Ever torque the spring with the wheels off the ground. You can snug the bolts but torque it with the car under full load.

Hi. Bolt heads or threads? GM used 18mm heads on some larger bolts. So if 3/4 and 19 are loose and 17 and 11/16 too small. That will be the culprit...
