Holley released EFI update for Sniper progressive linkage
So the basic order of things I did was:
- Install Holley Sniper EFI on the big block (great success, but very, very touchy, non-progressive throttle)
- Converted throttle body to Progressive Linkage (much better action, but now bogs due to bad calibration of delta TPS)
- Added newest Holley firmware
- Changed TBI settings to Progressive
You couldn't do this last required step until Holley added it to the firmware (well you might have been able to with the laptop version manually, but not easily). But now that they have the calibration available for it, if you're using the Sniper throttle body setup, I -highly- recommend that you upgrade the firmware and apply the calibration change that goes with it!

When I first installed the Holley Dominator EFI on my car....I used a 4500 sized throttle body with 1 to 1 linkage. Incredible throttle response...but as you mentioned...pretty touchy. I let some other folks drive it and they had trouble keeping it smooth with that sort of throttle response and 555" inches on the other side of the throttle blades. I converted to progressive...much like I had done on the previous Dominator carb and it smoothed it out a lot,
Hard to believe we'd ever complain about "too much" throttle response isn't it?? LOL.
EFI can manage huge increases in airflow even at low speeds without a hiccup. Cool stuff!
