Well it's been about a month now that I am "Corvetteless", I had a bad accident with my ZO6. Got rear ended after I stopped on the side of the road to help people involved in another car accident. The insurance fixed the car with over 21K of repair, the first opportunity I had I sold the car. It did not sound the same or drove the same.
Anyway, I am in the process of looking a 72 with automatic (none LT1). It sat for about 8 years, I came upon a 94 Camaro Z28 with low miles. I would like to harvest the engine and trans from this car and replace the corvette engine and trans. Will there be a fitment issue if I proceed with this swap? Will I need a new drive shaft? The Camaro has the LT1 and 460LE trans. I drove the Camaro after I tune it up and refresh the cooling system with new thermostat, water pump and all the hoses. Never driven one before, this car runs great and has a lot of torque.
When I make the swap, I was going to go with headers, 1.6:1 rocker arms, bigger throttle body and maybe a mild cam to bring the hp around 300 or so. All suggestion for the sway are welcome. Thank you in advance.
Bunch of electrical work to hook up the ECU for the efi and computer controlled trans. 700r is essentially the same trans. But screw the motor and trans. What is the car like? Read the 10 rules thread and know what the cage, frame and body are like.
