Default brake booster fit

Did anyone of you fit this brake booster to your car? Feedback would be much appreciated.

I would stay away from "Universal" fit boosters like that. For one thing, there should not be an adjustment nut on the rod like that.

A "big sale item" does no one any good if it doesn't fit / work correctly. You should stick with a vendor that specializes in C3 brake parts.

Don't get me wrong, I love Summit & Jegs but certain C3 parts (brake) I only purchase from C3 vendors instead of the one size fits all stores.

I have that same pb booster for several years now. Works perfect. The adjustment is done at the brake pedal as shown and not at the front of the booster like the oem. Not a big deal. I would recommend this product.

Thanks! How do you adjust at the brake pedal side? Won't that change the travel distancce of the pedal? Isn't that why you have to adjust the rod length at the master cylinder side so that the brake travel stays the same?

Not all years have adjustments under the dash. Clevis pin, that's it.

Here's what I did. Once I removed the old oem booster, I measured the toatal length from the clevis pin to the tip of the adjustable rod. On the new booster, I then measured from the tip of the rod back to where the adjustment nuts are and adjusted the two nuts to the same length as where the clevis pin was on the original. Installed booster in car. Like I said earlier, you make the adjustment at the front as the oem does or at the rear like the tuffstuff one. Don't matter which end you adjust to get the same overall rod length. Also, my booster will hold vacuum even after sitting for more than a week. So it's built tight.

Well hydroboost is way above my budget for now.
I made myself this tool to help the adjustment!

I'm thinking about this change too, can you post a picture showing the Booster/Valve Cover area? Did you need to make new Lines?

In case you come across another Tuffstuff booster, I'll post a couple pics anyway. The booster was a direct bolt-in.

Another vote for the aluminum master cylinder. I have the SSBC one from Summit. Looks like stock, but much lighter. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...ions/year/1969

Today I finally received the new brake booster that I ordered and they sent me the wrong one I think.
The booster for 71 should have raised attachment point where the master cylinder goes.
Can I fit the 77-82 booster to 71 corvette? I also have new Wilwood master cylinder.

The later booster is the replacement for the early ones. You will just need to insure the booster rod contacts the MC properly.
