If you were looking at this wiring schematic would you assume that on the bulkhead fuse block on engine side – that number 2,9,and 10 would be up (Top) and number 6,18 and 13 would be down (Bottom) of fuse block when bolting to the fire wall. Could it be possible to install this upside down?
I don't think you can put it in upside down because of the way it is shaped and I believe there is a receiver tab on the male and female to keep them orientated as well.
You can only plug in one way, the two connectors slide together, then you plug it up and screw down the bolt.
Here is a factory schematic for the 1975 cars too... If you click the plus button, then right click on the picture, then select copy. Open your paint program and paste it in there, save it to your desk top.

I replaced the entire engine wiring harness on my 73 but that was more than ten years ago. As I recall but I could be wrong the wiring harness block that mounts to the firewall will not seat correctly against the firewall or plug into the interior wiring block unless the orientation is correct.
Your most welcome.. Soon.. I'll have all the Aim's on the google drive as well...
But this schematic... if you save it to your desktop then you can open it with Paint.. trace out a circuit... and then save this as a different file. We use these almost every week in our shop to solve wiring issues. Now the only issues are some of the factory schematics are wrong. Some are missing the orange power wire from the main circuit. In most cases when I post these schematics I've corrected this issue. On 1968 cars.. what a hubbub .. Wires on the schematic change colors when in fact they didn't so I've also correct these mistakes as well.

I have another thread going. No motor, someone put a new complete harness in and ran the rear and front harness, but left everything in the car not hooked up. I plugged it all up I think was correct. Hooked up the starter wires to the alternator wires with positive from battery. When I turn the key on the driver side front runnig light is always on even if the light switch is off. Dome light works, brake lights work, door ajar light works. No dash lights, no power windows, no blower. Hers the funny, when I hit the turn signal right all good but left works and the wipers come on. Ugh!
FYI – After spending countless hours trying to track this issue down. I had removed everything in the dash including the steering column to see what was going on. I figured it out – The original owner (POS) that installed the new harness had the fuse block on the firewall engine side flipped 180 degree – Yes evidently it can go in 2 ways. We rotated the block 180 deg and bolted it back up and Walla – everything works as it should
