Default How to refurbish speedometer back can?
Both my speedometer and tach have surface rust on the back of the can.
Is the light green on the inside paint.
I want to soak the parts in evaporust but don't want to remove the green paint

In theory, evaporust will not harm the paint. It's one of their big claims. I'd test a spot first of course.

Well you can scrub them clean by had. Use a cleaner like simple green (less aggressive) and scrub with nylon only brushes and scrub pads.
