steering column in parts question
Ok. been 30 years since I had one apart, in NON tilt is there a 'locking plate'I DO have a diagram of a non tilt, and it shows 'steeringshaft lock w/t&t' which to me means tilt/telscoping, but I'm on the page that is for NON tilt,
this confuses me. I got this column in a basket case 71, so here is my problem, the plastic part with the brass contact for the horn was kept in place by a locking ring, should there have been a locking plate after
the plastic horn/brass part then the locking ring, or is it just plastic then lock. remeber this is a NON tilt, I know the tilt has this plate. Thanks Mike.

I have the 'shop' manual for 1979 Corvettes, and it has lots of photos of the disassembly of the standard column.
I don't know how similar the columns are, but getting one of these manuals is a good place to start.
