I am still a little confused about whether I need this and what this item does. I did find it in the transmission section. Is it possible it only relates to a 3 speed manual transmission car. My AIM is pretty faint.
There was nothing ever hooked up to this in my car when I purchased it.
Here are the 2 pages referring to it in the transmission section.
OK,
All makes sense now. No idea these cars had that feature. Another part I will need to buy.
Thanks!
Pete
It really is not needed for operation of the car. The car will operate fine without it as long as it is in the "up" position. The 5 and 6 speed conversions have no provision for using this so it is just left disconnected. It just prevents the key from being removed unless the car is in reverse on a 4 speed car.
