A guy here at work has a 2000 Camaro SS. He was parked at the wrong place at the wrong time and got some paint overspray on his car. He used a clay bar on the paint and that worked well, but on this glass he made a mistake and used sotchbrite pad. Now his glass has a hase. Does anyone know of something that he can do to clear up his glass.
OUCH!! A little too late, but that's the wrong stuff to use on glass!
What to do about it? Well, he needs to have the glass polished. I'd contact a glass shop and see what they can offer. I have seen some do-it-yourself glass polishing kits. Can't think of where. They should remove a haze, but won't do anything for a real scratch.
He may be SOL. Windshields are laminated glass and can sometimes be polished if the scratches are minor. Door and rear window glass is tempered and usually can't be polished.
I saw on HORSEPOWER TV once on how to take care of this kind of situation.
They used a glass cleaner and FINE steel wool. Then polish.
Like I said, I SAW IT, but haven't tried it.
It can be polished but I suggest you having it done professionally.I tried the kit that eastwood sells and it didnt work well, but I may have been doing something wrong. :seeya
