Default GM power steering pump issues

Ive got a GM power steering pump, using the earls adapter an-6 fitting, but i seem to be leaking from it, so not sure where the o ring seal should go??

should be in the postition in picture 2 or 3 ?? or somewhere else, are you meant to use a copper washer aswell or ??

One thing to consider that is after you get the leak fixed is to address the heat issue. I was replacing the power steering pump every year or two because of the rpm I was doing. The heat was ruining the case and hose seals. So I bought a March aluminum smaller diameter crank pulley to turn the pump at less rpm and I added a regular auto tranny fluid cooler on the low pressure return side. Those two items work beautifully. Just remember to mount the cooler below the high fill level of the pump.

its brand new, not even run yet, i had the seal in the 1st pic of the fitting, so i will try it in its new postition in 2nd fitting pic, ive already got a oil cooler on the return line, so good to go there

what kind of rpms were you doing?

Back then around 7000 rpm. I also failed (exploded) an alternator way back when because I never considered the nearly 3:1 or what ever pulley ratios were. 3:1 poor alternator was trying to do 21,000 rpm. So I have dorked with pulley diameters to get everything running right in my 7500 rpm present day motors.
