1976 Basket Case
Hi, all- A few years ago I bought my first Corvette, a 76 basket case and I mean that literally. It was a rolling hull with a pickup truck full of boxes. In the years I've had it I pulled the body off the chassis and completely rebuilt suspension, brakes, fuel system, etc. The body is back on now, I have a fresh motor waiting to go in and converted from auto trans to a stick. As you might imagine, trying to get the wiring, vacuum systems and interior back into this car is pretty intimidating! I have several issues I could use some help with but, for now, I'll start with just one question-is there a way I can test the function of the headlights (opening and closing) without a motor or vacuum system in the car using a Mity-Vac hand pump? I'd like to make sure they work before I put the rest of the car back together around everything while it's easy to get to.

you cannt get another car close enough to run a vacuum hose from the running engine and connect to the check valve in the diagram?
