Ignore them Paul. I'll take a blizzard over a hurricane any day.
Can't make snowballs in a hurricane ;)
Plus they all talk funny. "Ya'll" and "I reckon" and "a fur piece" and all those other expressions that come from there. Listen to a southerner say "oil" and then "all". Sounds exactly the same. I will admit that they should have won the Civil War. We'd be in much better shape if they did.
Quite frankly, I get skittish just looking at those hurricanes on TV. Frightening just to watch. Never seen one. I did a CarFax search on a C2 about a year ago and the verdict came back water damaged. So in my Canadian virginity I figured the owner left the convertible top down during a rainstorm. No......It is a flooded car. What can I say. We love to hate snow but we love it. So we enjoy it...without our Corvettes. Freezing rain is another story! But a good snow storm I love. A thing of beauty. Mother Nature's work of art.
Nope. My car is NOT ready for storage! Well, it doesn't really get 'stored', more a matter of putting gas in it and declaring it the last time for the season. But I usually hold out until just before Christmas if I can.
Ottawa is Canada's Capital City. About 75 miles north of the US border at the 1000 Islands Bridge near Kingston, Ontario.
*Edit*-And I very happy for what I did today. It is about 20F and the Corvette should be where it is. When I saw those those white flakes in the sky today, that was it.
Woah! You're way up there. it was flurryign down here pretty hard today. Nothing that stuck at all though. I figure it's just a teaser. It won't stop me!
Funny how we are so affected by our weather... Here in LA its just getting to be time to drive... temperatures stay in the seventies (max) and the car just runs perfect... The heat in the cabin actually feels good. Here in LA we only stop for rain... even then we usely get lucky and only have rain on weekdays!
Carl: I don't envy you either. We get to look at forrests in my area. They don't all go up in smoke ;)
Yes, you can drive your Vette while we have ours stored. But I still get to see my trees turn green in the spring. Glad your Vette is running good though :)
"withdrawn" status insurance isn't too bad, something like $10/mo.
Trouble is I got a storage unit rather than a spot in a car storage area.
It has a nice concrete surface so I'll be able to do the couple things I wanted to do to it this winter. The bay is also much larger than I need for just the Corvette. I'll be removing the engine from my friend's garage and finally start rebuilding it.
Next year I'll probably look into "the mine" near here. It's an old mine that is now used as a storage facility. Never goes below something like 50 degrees.
Paul, as you know I used to push it as late as possible but last year I got tired of the car in the cold by the middle of Nov and this year with my back, it is pretty much done already. :( But there is a sense of 'doing the right thing' when those white flakes start to fall.
And to think, in 1999/2000 I put the car away on December 28 and pulled it back out February 27.
