Default OBX Header Side Pipe Tubes

Got the header & collector part of the header side pipes on my 71 Stingray, however when you slide the tubes on they are about 1 1/2" to 2" off from the slots in the frame. I have seen where Vette owners say they have to notch the slotted holes, but can I extend that notch that much w/o weakening the frame? Looks to be simpler to just drill new holes. Info & recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance!!!

Never needed to notch mine. Are your tubes slipped over the collector ALL the way?

Only way my slots line up w/the brackets are to just barely slide the tubes on.

I had to make new holes/slots on one side because I wanted the side tube to be fully slid on the header. Otherwise they were only on a little bit. Post some pics.

Exactly!!! With mine slid on the whole way it throws mine off as well. What did you do? Just drill holes & go from there? What kind of fastener did you use in place of the "T" bolts that came w/the setup? Also, what order did you place all the fasteners in? I will post pics as soon as I can figure out how to do it.
