I'm re-building the diff on my 1980 and I need all new bearings, seals, and shims. is there anybody out there that knows a place that has a kit with all I need. Really could use some help on this one.
Just about anyone will have the bearings. The shims can be a little harder - specially the for the clutch pack (as apposed to the pinion). Tom's Rearends would be a good place to start.
There is a fellow in the Pittsburgh, PA area who rebuilds drivetrain components on Corvettes. This is all he does and he does it well. His name is Harvey Jacobs at 412-264-9151. He may be able to help you with what you need.

Hay thanks for the help guys. I got the diff housing back from the powder shop yesterday. I think i'm gonna get the bearings from a shop and use the old shims for now. I just got new orders to report to HS-7 in jacksonville on March 3. I'm gonna get the car trailerable and finish when I get there.
I went to a local bearing shop that specializes in bearings and seals and they could take the part numbers off any of the old bearings, races and seals and could supply every part except the pinion seal. They cost about $80 CDN for everything except the pinion seal. Original dealer parts cost alot more.
