1981 auto, just had a 7004 transmission installed and the shift indicator needle broke. Having issues making a new one fit so need the the groups wisdom. Hopefully photos show my issue. Happy to post more if anyone has suggestions. Thanks for the help!
Does needle assembly stay on outside of light bucket and just rub against it?
Needle base doesn't clear the mounting bracket.
Maybe transmission install bent the bracket?
According to Willcox picture below, I should have plenty of room between the bracket post and the needle base.
