Default 1981 Oil

I will preface this post by saying I have read the sticky on oil and I have read every post I could find with everyone's suggestions and quite frankly

I just want to make sure Valvoline VR1 10W-30 will work well and properly in my 1981 with 99% stock motor (emissions removed) with 81K. I know this is a highly debated topic and to be honest, most of the posts I have read start hurting my head because of all the technical information that is SO in depth, I just want to make sure 10W-30 will work and the zddp content is good in the Valvoline VR-1. Thanks in advance everyone.

asking whats the best oil on this forum is like asking whats the best pie... what you are using is fine.. you just need zink for the flat tappet cam/lifters.. use any brand you prefer

Like herding cats

'bout the only thing you might find concensus here is... who is best 2-3 carb guys and who is best 2-3 rear gear guys.

Just today, I visited shops of Clement Racing Engines in Spartanburg SC ... (ie #51 Jeremy Clements nascar Xfinity series) ... so, who is best engine builder in Spartanburg???? who is best dirt late model engine builder east of big muddy??? Ask your cat.

Well, zinc is preferable to zink.
Without getting too technical, the viscosity comes in to play when talking about summer temps. Presuming you don't drive much in winter, and if summers are on the hot side, I might choose a 10W40 with zink.
